4. Parental Consent and Users Under 18
Algoverse's Services are designed primarily for high school and college students. If the user is under 18 years of age, the user's parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on the user's behalf. By enrolling a minor, the parent or guardian:
(a) represents that they are the parent or legal guardian with authority to bind the minor; (b) consents to the minor's participation in the Services and to the collection and processing of the minor's personal information as described in our Privacy Policy; (c) agrees to all provisions of these Terms on the minor's behalf, including the intellectual property license in Section 9, the dispute resolution and arbitration provisions, and payment obligations; (d) accepts financial responsibility for all fees, charges, and obligations associated with the minor's enrollment.
Algoverse does not knowingly enroll users under 13 without verifiable parental consent in compliance with COPPA.

8. Prohibited Activities
Users cannot use Services for unlawful purposes or activities disrupting the platform or other users. Prohibited activities include: unauthorized access to accounts, distributing harmful code, harassing users, illegal or fraudulent use, unauthorized system access attempts, fraudulent activities including payment fraud and identity misrepresentation, and content scraping without express written permission.
9. User Contributions and Research Works
Students and users retain ownership of original work they create, including research papers, code, and other contributions ("Contributions").
By submitting Contributions through the Services, you grant Algoverse a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, and otherwise exploit the Contributions for any purpose, including but not limited to: academic publication, conference and journal submission, marketing and promotional materials, the Algoverse website and social media, internal training, and program development.

Legal Terms
12. Privacy Policy
User privacy is important. The Privacy Policy describes personal information collection, use, and protection practices.
13. Term and Termination
Legal Terms remain effective until termination by either party. Algoverse reserves rights to terminate user access anytime for any reason. Termination requires ceasing all Service use; accounts and associated data may be deleted.
Algoverse may immediately suspend or terminate access for suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity. The platform may refuse service, terminate accounts, or modify access privileges at sole discretion if users present risks to security, integrity, or operational aspects.
14. Modifications and Interruptions
Algoverse reserves rights to modify or discontinue Services anytime without liability for interruptions or errors. Legal Terms may be periodically updated with notification of significant changes.
15. Governing Law
Legal Terms are governed by California state law without regard to conflict principles. Legal actions must be brought exclusively in California courts.
16. Dispute Resolution
Disputes are resolved through binding arbitration under American Arbitration Association rules, taking place in Palo Alto, California.
All claims and disputes must be brought in the parties' individual capacity only, and not as a plaintiff, class member, or representative in any purported class action, collective action, consolidated proceeding, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate the claims of more than one party and may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable, then the entirety of Section 16 shall be null and void, but the remainder of these Terms shall remain in effect.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring claims in small claims court if eligible, and either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.
