Vasu Sharma is a Research Scientist Lead at Meta with the Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team, where he co-authored the state-of-the-art vision model DINOv2 as one of the tech leads and is currently working on Llama 4.

He leads applied research at Meta AI focusing on 100B-parameter LLMs and self-supervised vision and audio-video systems. He serves as tech lead for Llama 3/4, Chameleon, and MoE initiatives, building multimodal foundational generative AI models.

Vasu has published 50+ papers across top AI conferences like NeurIPS, CVPR, ACL, EMNLP, TMLR, ICLR, NAACL, and COLM, garnering over 7,000 citations. He serves as NeurIPS Area Chair and Reviewer.

Previously, Vasu was a researcher on the Alexa AI team at Amazon Lab126 and a quantitative researcher at Citadel. He graduated from IIT Kanpur with a Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering, then completed his Master's in Machine Learning and AI at Carnegie Mellon University's Language Technologies Institute, graduating top of his class.
