Algoverse AI Research Program

Lead your own research,
one on one.

A dedicated mentor, a research question that is yours, and a paper you publish as lead author.

Your direction

You choose the problem and own the research.

Your own mentor

A dedicated graduate-researcher mentor for the full program.

Lead author

Publish as the lead author of your own paper.

End to end

From your first question to a finished submission.

A mentor and researcher working together.

Mentorship

A mentor of your own

You are paired one on one with a dedicated graduate-researcher mentor, an active AI researcher publishing at top venues. They meet with you every week, help you shape your direction, and review your code and your drafts. Their job is to get you to a publication you lead.

Structure

You and your mentor move through four phases, from a question that is yours to a paper ready to submit.

Questions

How is this different from the Team Research Program?

The Team Research Program places you on a team of three to four students with a shared mentor. In the 1:1 Research Program you work alone with a dedicated mentor, set your own research question, and publish as lead author.

Do I need prior research experience?

Prior publications are not required. We look for students who have worked with machine learning before and are ready to work independently between weekly meetings.

How do I apply?

Submit the standard application and select the 1:1 Research Program. Decisions go out within one week of the application deadline.

Where will the paper be submitted?

Workshops at Tier 1 conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and ACL, chosen with your mentor to fit the work.

Apply
