Artificial Intelligence-enabled Analysis Of Visual Attention And Hand-tool Interactions In The Operating Room

Leia Chen, Philip Chen, James Ignacio, Isaac Picov

Abstract

This paper presents an AI-enabled system for analyzing visual attention patterns and hand-tool interactions during surgical procedures. Using eye-tracking and computer vision techniques, we capture and analyze how surgeons allocate their attention and coordinate their tool usage. The insights from our analysis can inform surgical training programs and improve procedural safety. [arXiv link TBA]
